So, Guardians of the Galaxy was, as expected, a great fun film for all ages that featured some pretty incredible special effects and what I felt was one of the better scripts coming from the Marvel studios. It has some moments that stretch credulity, but hey, it features a talking raccoon, so you got to take that with a grain of salt.
The computer graphics are incredible. The film works so well you forget that the scenery is almost all completely created, not physically there for the actors to interact with. The overall effect is dazzling.
The script is tight and funny and touching and fast. It is clean fast paced intense and in some places, downright amazing. It gives the feel of a Star Wars saga with the touches of a Indiana Jones slapstick humor. I'm serious.
This is just great stuff.
And as a long-time fan of the comics, it was SO nice to see the Kirby designs come to life like that.
wow.
Really good, guys.
All in all, a film worth seeing and hey, the 3D was even worth the money.
So go see it if you haven't. And take a kid with you.
Even if the kid is still inside you.
